In Jammu and Kashmir security forces achieved yet another success when they gunned down a top Lashkar-e- Toiba (LeT) militant in a gun battle in mountainous Doda district in Jammu division. According to Official sources, acting on a tip-off regarding movement of around 4-5 LeT militants in Gundana forests of Koat area, army and police last night launched a joint operation. Seeing the search party approaching towards them, the militants fired on the party which was retaliated and in the encounter one top Lashkar militant identified as Mohammad Ishad Lone alias Munnazil, resident of Hertni, Doda, was eliminated. Ishad was one of the top most wanted militants. Another hardcore militant of Lashkar , Salman, is believed to be trapped in the gun battle . Meanwhile the encounter in Laribal, Zachaldara in Handwara Tehsil of Kupwara district in Kashmir valley is going on since early morning.
