The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested Indian Mujahideen's India Commander Tehsin Akhtar alias Monu on the Indo-Nepal border. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi this evening, Special Commissioner (Special Cell) S N Srivastava said the police nabbed him from Kakarvitta in Darjeeling district and taken him in transit remand.
He said Akhtar will be brought to Delhi this evening. The Special Commissioner said that Akhtar resident of Bihar is wanted for a series of terrorist strike spread over various states in India. He said, the Police got the specific information relating to Akhtar from the interrogation of previously arrested Indian Mujahiddin terrorists.
The Special Commissioner said that Akhtar was heading Indian Mujahideen after the arrest of Yaseen Bhatkal. Earlier on Sunday, the Special Cell had arrested four suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists, including a Pakistani national, Zia-Ur-Rehman alias Waqas from Rajasthan.
