Top BJP leaders meet to decide on Yeddyurappa’s fate today

Top leadership of BJP met on Sunday in New Delhi to discuss the fate of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. Party chief Nitin Gadkari, senior leaders L K Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley discussed the development.Under mounting pressure to quit over alleged land scam Mr Yeddyurappa is making a last ditch attempt to convince the BJP high command that he should be allowed to continue in the top post.Mr Yeddyurappa is reaching New Delhi Sunday evening to present his case.The beleaguered chief minister, under intense attack from the opposition, particularly JDS, would tell the central leadership that he commanded majority and that he cannot be sacked unilaterally.AIR correspondent reports over a dozen ministers and some MLAs might accompany the Chief Minister to Delhi and some more may join them later. JDS has levelled a fresh charge against Yeddyurappa's kin that they had sold land worth 20 crore rupees to a mining firm and raised doubts about its ownership.However, Yeddyurappa has rejected the charges and claimed the opposition wanted to topple his government.
