Air India has implemented its contingency plan to avoid inconvenience to the passengers due to Pilots' strike. Air India spokesman told AIR that as part of the contingency plan, the National carrier operated international flights to 5 destinations from Delhi. These destinations are Toronto, New York, Frankfurt, London and Chicago. He said that more national and international flights will be operated in near future.

The spokeman informed that booking of Air India flights has been cancelled till 18th of this month. Over 200 Air India Pilots have not been reporting for duty in protest against rescheduling of training programme of dreamliner and issues related to their career progression.

Air India Pilots' strike continued for the eighth day today. Government today said action will be taken against Air India pilots who have falsely reported sick and not resumed work. A medical summary issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry in New Delhi today said most of the Air India pilots, who called in sick, were neither found at home by doctors sent by the airline nor reported to doctors empanelled by the carrier. Their mobile phones were also unreachable. Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said the Directorate General of Civil Aviation will take action against them.

The airline has already sacked 71 striking pilots, who
have been protesting against rescheduling of training
programme of Dreamliner and issues related to their career
progression.
