Too early to blame Maoists for Rajdhani derailment in Bihar: HM; Rail Min rushes to accident site

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said it will be too early to blame the Maoists for the derailment of the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani in Bihar. Mr Singh told reporters in New Delhi that one should wait for further report on the incident.

The Home Minister said, he has spoken directly to rail officials on the spot and has briefed the Prime Minister regarding all developments. He said even the Prme Minister agrees that it is too early to blame the Naxals for the accident.

Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda is on the way for accident spot, where the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express train derailed. Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy, who is also the Lok Sabha member from Saran where the accident took place, visited the spot.

Meanwhile Bihar government has also announced ex-gratia of 50 thousand rupees for the family of each of the deceased andfor treatment of injured persons.

Due to the Rajdhani express derailment at least 23 trains have been diverted and 49 have been short terminated or cancelled in the route where accident took placed .

According to ECR, Chief Public Relation Officer, Ashok Kumar Rajak, stranded passengers have been already sent by a special train on their onward journey. Press released issued by ECR said that 4 people were died and 18 passengers were injured in this incident.
