The death toll in rain related incidents in Tamil Nadu has gone up to 75. Nilgris district alone has reported 42 deaths, as people were killed in landslips and wall collapse. Torrential rains had triggered landslides and traffic on the Mettupalayam- Udhagamandalam Ghat section has been completely cut off. The Nilgris Mountain Railway service has also been suspended as huge boulders fell on the tracks. Chief Minister Mr M.Karunanidhi announced a solatium of one lakh each to the families of those killed.
