In Uttarakhand, Sixty people have been killed due to heavy rain and landslides in two days. Hundreds of houses damaged and about five thousand people shifted to safer places. In Uttar Pradesh, the bordering districts have been flooded due to heavy rain in the heights of Uttarakhand. The water is coming into Ganga, Ramganga and Sharda due to heavy inflow from the barrages. Our Gorakhpur correspondent reports that the situation remains grim in certain eastern districts due to intermittent rain.In Bihar, the newly erected parallel bund to main Saran embankment breached in Gopalganj district today affecting over two lakh people. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the breach took place near Simaria village in Barauli block.Flood water has spread in several villages under Barauli, Manjha, Sidhwalia and Baikunthpur blocks. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held an emergency meeting and reviewed the flood situation. He said, mega relief camps would be run on the lines of similar camps opened during Kosi deluge in 2008. Heavy rain lashed the national capital today causing water logging and traffic disruptions.
