Tokyo to help India in providing financial and operational support to introduce bullet trains

At a joint press conference, Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe also announced that as an example of Indo-Japan cooperation, Tokyo will help India in providing financial, technical and operational support to
introduce Bullet trains, the project that Modi has been actively pursuing. The Prime Minister said, India's progress and development is not only a big economic opportunity that will benefit India and Japan, but it will be strengthen democracy globally and contribute to stability and prosperity in the world. He said that there is considerable progress in negotiations on civil nuclear cooperation between the two nations. Modi said, instruction has been given to concerned officials to expedite works in this regard. It was also decided to work expeditiously to conclude the negotiations on civil nuclear cooperation. He pointed out that Japan has decided to remove ban on several Indian industries.
The Japanese Prime Minister also termed Modi as his old friend. He said that the visit of Modi will deepen the bilateral relations. Mr. Abe has also accepted Prime Minister Modi’s invitation to visit India for the next Annual Summit next year.
Earlier in the day, Modi visited an elementary school and met several senior ministers. He also delivered keynote address at a business luncheon and said nations should decide whether to be Expansionist or Development oriented. Without naming any countries, criticized against nations entering other countries and entering the maritime zones of other nations. In a bid to encourage more investment from Japan, Modi announced that a Special Management Team will be set up under the Prime Minister’s Office. He also said that Japan government can depute two representatives from their country.
