In Japan, residents of Tokyo experienced their first November snowfall in 54 years today caused by an unusual cold front over the city, but above-freezing temperatures kept the snow from sticking. The Japan Meteorological Agency warned of possible icy roads, snow on electric wires and trees, and the collapse of plastic greenhouses. The agency said, the unexpected weather will also cause longer commuting trips because of public transport delays. The temperatures around this time of the year in Tokyo usually range from 10 degrees to 17 degrees Celsius. The last time it snowed in central Tokyo in November was in 1962.
