The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay kicked off in Fukushima, Japan today. It will travel through all of Japan's 47 districts over the next 121 days. The torch will arrive in Tokyo for the Olympic Games Opening Ceremeony on July 23. Japanese footballer lwashimizu Azusa is the first receiver at the start of Olympic Torch Relay.
Torchbearers will run an average of 200 meters before passing the torch onto the next runner using a torch kiss pose. The Games were postponed last year due to Corona virus Pandemic engulfing the world.
