In Kerala, functioning of government hospitals across the state was affected today due to a day-long token strike by doctors. The strike was called by doctors under the state health services to demand rectification of anomalies in the last pay commission.Doctors kept off from out patient sections in the general, district and taluk hospitals in response to the strike call given by Kerala Government Medical Officers Association.However, Directorate of Health Service said alternative arrangements had been put in place in all hospitals to avoid any inconvenience to patients. The Association said, today's token strike was a prelude to the indefinite strike which will be called by doctors from June 10 if their demands were not met.
