Today is second anniversary of SVAMITVA scheme

<span style="color: #222222;">Today is the second anniversary of Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas – SVAMITVA scheme. It is a Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj which is aimed to provide the record of rights to village household owners in rural areas and issue Property Cards. AIR correspondent reports that the scheme was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th April, 2020, on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.<br />”<br />”SVAMITVA Scheme is being implemented across the country in a phased manner and will cover around six lakh 62 thousand villages of the country. More than 36 lakh 68 thousand property cards have been distributed under the scheme and drone survey have been completed in over one lakh 31 thousand villages. The scheme has paved the way for using property as a financial asset by villagers for taking loans and other financial benefits, like in urban areas. Under the scheme drone technology has been used for the first time to map actual property area of land owners.&nbsp;</span><br />
