Today is last day for withdrawl in UP Council polls

Today is the last date of withdrawal from Biennial UP legislative council election. Two independent candidates have withdrawn their name from this election, the report last came in. Elections are going to be held for 36 seats on 7th of January.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent Sanjay Pratap Singh reports from Lucknow that after scrutiny of nomination papers and withdrawal by two candidates so far, 210 candidates are left for Legislative council elections. However the exact number of contestants will be clear by this evening .An independent candidate from Pilibhit-Shahajahnpur and another independent candidate from Faizabad seat have withdrawn their names from this election .The state election office has still not received any formal communication of scrutiny report from Pratapgarh seat.Total 923 polling stations will be made for 36 seats and more than 1.25 lakh voters will cast their votes on 7th of January.<br/><br/>
