Today is last day for filing of nominations for polls in phase eight on the 7th of May

Today is the last date for filing of nominations in 64 Lok Sabha constituencies spread in seven states and 175 Assembly Constituencies of Andhra Pradesh where election are scheduled to be conducted on 7th May in phase eight. Twenty-five Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar-7, Himachal Pradesh-4, Jammu & Kashmir 2, Uttar Pradesh-15, Uttarakhand-5 and West Bengal-6 will go to poll in this phase.

In Bihar, polling in Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Hajipur(SC), and Ujiarpur Parliamentary constituencies will be held in the 5th phase in the state on 7th of next month. Scrutiny would be undertaken by 21st and 23rd April is the last date for withdrawal of candidature. On the other hand as the poll date nears for the third phase of polling at Simanchal and Bhagalpur region, candidates are trying to woo the electorates through rallies, road show and Padyatras.

AIR correspondent reports that top leaders and star campaigners of all regional and national parties will address many election rallies today. BJP leader Narendra Modi will address election rallies in Katihar and Supaul, while JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will attend election rallies in Supaul, Araria, Bhagalpur and Katihar. RJD Chief Laloo Prasad Yadav, LJP leader Ramvilas Paswan are also scheduled to address many election rallies.
