<span style="color: #222222;">Trichy, in Tamilnadu, is concentrating on developing an all inclusive entertainment hub for citizens and tourism. The City Commissioner and Special Officer Shri N Ravichandran told AIR that the city is using resources under the Smart City scheme to develop entertainment and recreation facilities in the city.<br />''<br />''Under the scheme, one hundred parks are being set up in different parts of the city. Of these, already 60 have become functional. All these parks are being provided with facilities for the residents to take physical exercises. Walkways and other recreational facilities are also being provided in these parks.<br />''<br />''The Commisioner also pointed out that the city is paying special attention to ensure that the developmental activities are being undertaken in an environment friendly manner. He said that planting of shade providing trees on main roads, using LED bulbs instead of conventional bulb and controlling the use of one time use plastic  are being actively implemented in Trichy.</span><br />''<br />''<br />
