TN seeks Centre's views on release of convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case

The Tamil Nadu Government has sought the opinion of the Centre on releasing the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case. The state Chief Secretary Gnanadesikan has written a letter to the Union Home Secretary today saying, it has decided to release the convicts as they have been in prison for 24 years. It is mandatory for state governments to consult the Centre on releasing convicts who were tried by the CBI.
