The Protem Speaker Dr.C.K.Tamilarasan has been appointed to conduct proceedings of the Assembly.In a notification issued by the Governor of Tamilnadu, Dr. K. Rosaiah said that Dr.Tamizharasan being a member of the Assembly has been assigned to perform duties of the Speaker till the election of the Speaker. The post of Speaker lies vacant due to the resignation of D.Jayakumar. The ruling AIADMK has announced Mr.P.Dhanapal as a contestant for the post.
