The death toll in yesterday's accident in a fire cracker factory in Muthalaipatti near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu has gone upto thirty eight. Six persons including the foreman of the factory Udayakumar and contractor Pal Pandi have been arrested by local police for violating safety norms. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu State Ministers including Finance Minister O Paneerselvam and Electricity Minister Natham Viswanathan will today hand over two lakh rupees each to the next of kin of those who lost their lives.More than 50 people, injured in the accident have been admitted to various hospitals in Virudunagar, Madurai and Sivakasi.
