In Tamil Nadu, the death toll in the fiber boat tragedy in the sea near Manapadu Tiruchendur in Thoothukudi district has risen to ten today. Tamil Nadu minister Kadambur Raju rushed to the spot and handed over Rs two lakhs compensation each to the family of deceased. <br/> <br/>Our correspondent reports that There is a pall of gloom in the Azhagamalpuram village near Tiruchendur as the death toll in boat tragedy rose to ten. Thirty eight persons from Tiruchendur and Trichy hired a fiber boat for an outing in the sea. The boat capsized and local fishermen saved ten persons. Nine persons drowned to death yesterday and body of one girl was retrieved today morning. <br/><br/>Tamil Nadu Coastal security group police has registered a case against the owner and driver of the fiber boat. Ten persons who were saved from the sea are undergoing treatment in hospital in Tiruchendur. Safety guidelines were not followed as the fiber boats were not supposed to be used for tourists in sea.
