Railway Safety Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Singh has recorded the statements of railway officials, passengers and eyewitnesses during the two-day statutory enquiry into the Tamil Nadu Express fire accident. The enquiry into the fire accident, which occurred on Monday last week burning 32 passengers alive and injuring many more, concluded on Friday.The Commissioner recorded statements from eight injured passengers at the hospitals, where they are being treated.Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still not known as different views are being aired by the railway authorities, local police and passengers. A forensic team has also collected samples from the burnt S-11 coach for studying the reasons that might have caused the fire.Railway officials said one more person succumbed to injuries at a private hospital taking the death toll to 33.
