In Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking the Centre to facilitate safe return of the Indian maid whose hand has been severed, reportedly by her employer in Saudi Arabia. Ms Jayalalithaa has said the life of the poor woman from Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, Ms Kasturi Muniratnam (??????? ????????) is at risk, adding that there are efforts to brand her as mentally unstable and that she got her hand cut off during her attempt to flee from the employer. <br/><br/>Ms Jayalalithaa has asked the Centre to take up the matter at the highest level for giving the best possible medical help to the victim, properly compensate her and to bring her back home at the earliest. <br/> <br/>The External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj recently expressed her anguish at the incident saying, such actions as severing the hands of Indian workers are unacceptable.
