Veteran Tamil Nadu batsman S Badrinath has been recalled into the Indian Test team as replacement for VVS Laxman for the Test series against New Zealand. The series begins at Hyderabad on 23rd August. Badrinath has been a prolific scorer in the domestic cricket with 28 centuries while he has played two Test matches against South Africa in 2010 with his highest score being 56. He last played for India in an ODI against West Indies in Antigua in June, last year.
