In Tamil Nadu, AIADMK legislators D.Jayakumar and P.Dhanapal were today unanimously elected as Speaker and Dy.Speaker of the 14th Tamil Nadu Assembly today. After the Assembly began this morning, Protem Speaker Mr. C.K.Tamilarasan announced that Mr.D.Jayakumar was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Assembly. Following this, the leader of the House Mr.O.Pannerselvam and the Opposition Leader Mr.Vijaykant led the newly elected Speaker of the House, Mr.D.Jayakumar to his Chair.All the leaders of various parties in the House including the Chief Minister and the leader of the House congratulated and greeted the Speaker and sought a balanced approach towards all parties. Addressing the House, the speaker also said that he would do justice to all parties and sought their cooperation to conduct the House in a peaceful manner.Earlier Mr.Sivapathy and Mr.A.Manoharan who were elected from Musiri and Trichy East constituency took oath as members of the Assembly.
