One of the resolutions demanded that India should call for an independent inquiry on the alleged war crimes during the final phase of the war.

Another resolution demanded that stated the displaced Tamils who are housed in camps should be rehabilitated in their original places. The Chief Minister also reiterated that a referendum should be conducted on the issue of Tamil Eelam.

Highlighting the various hardships that the Tamils are suffering, she said that India should impose economic sanctions against Srilanka till the Lankan Tamils are treated as equals on par.

During the speech, the Chief Minister hit hard at the DMK for its inabililty to take a stand on the issue while it was a part of the Government.

During the Chief Minister’s Speech on the issue, the leader of the DMK legislative Party Mr..M.K Stalin, sought an opportunity to explain. But as the opportunity was denied, the DMK members continued to raise objections and tried to protest before the Speaker's Chair.

The Speaker Mr.P.Dhanapal then issued several warnings but since they did not heed to him, he ordered the members to be evicted from the Assembly.
