The Tamil Nadu government has announced a ten percent reservation for destitute women in the posts of Police, Prison Warden and fire personnel.In a press release, Chief Minister Jayalalitha said that the reservation is for destitute women who are directly recruited by the Tamilnadu Police Commission.The posts would have a maximum grade pay of 2400 rupees per month.During her earlier regime in 1996, Ms Jayalalitha had allocated 30 percent reservation for women who are recruited through State Police Commission.
