AIADMK and DMDK today settled their differences over constituencies as 41 seats were identified for DMDK to contest in the April 13 Tamil Nadu assembly polls. DMDK presidium chairman Panrutty Ramachandran said, his party founder and actor Vijayakant would approve the new list after which the two parties would sign a formal deal. Speaking to reporters outside the residence of AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa after talks with her, Ramachandran said, the discussions have reached the final stage. Meanwhile, in a letter to the MDMK the AIADMK general Secretary Jayalalitha has said that she was saddened by the decision of the MDMK to boycott the assembly election. The Vaiko-led MDMK, decided not to contest the election in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the alleged ill-treatment meted out to it by the lead partner, AIADMK.The decision was taken at a meeting of the district secretaries of the party in the early hours of the day. A last minute effort by the AIADMK leadership to prevail upon MDMK with an offer of 13 seats could not succeed.
