The Trinamool Congress has decided to support UPA Candidate, Pranab Mukherjee in the Presidential polls. An announcement to this effect was made by the Party Chairperson and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata yesterday. BJP and some other opposition parties have fielded PA Sangma for the poll. Presidential polls will be held tomorrow. UPA nominee Mohd. Hamid Ansari will file his nomination papers for the Vice Presidential polls today. The National Democratic Alliance has fielded Jaswant Singh for the poll. Parliamentary Affairs Minister PK Bansal said that Mr Ansari will submit four sets of nomination papers to Lok Sabha Secretary General TK Vishwanathan, who is the Returning Officer for the Vice Presidential elections. The last day for filing of nominations is the 20th of this month and scrutiny will take place the next day. The polling will be held on the 7th of next month.
