A study by scientists in the United States reveals that nanodiamonds can prevent lithium batteries from bursting into flames, making smartphones, laptops and other mobile devices safer to use. The study was published in the journal Nature Communications. <br/><br/>Amercian researchers developed a recipe that can turn electrolyte solution into a safeguard against the chemical process that leads to battery-related disasters. Electrolyte solution is a key component of most batteries. Nano diamonds are tiny particles, ten thousand times smaller than the width of a hair.
