The government has extended the timeline for filing of income-tax, till the 31st of this month for the residents of Sikkim. AIR correspondent reports, the decision has been taken in view of the recent earthquake and subsequent heavy loss of life and property in the state. An official statement said, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the due date of filing of returns of income for the Assessment Year 2011-12, from September 30th, 2011, to October 31st, 2011.
