Information and Brodcasting Minister Arun Jaitley today said it is time to change the definition of news, for which digital media can become an important tool. <br/><br/>Speaking at an award ceremony, where eight journalists from various media organisations were felicitated for their exemplary contribution towards journalism, Mr Jaitley said in the era of information overload, it is important that news catered to the masses is authentic and focuses on core issues prevalent in the country.<br/><br/>Highlighting the importance of social media,Mr Jaitley said its contribution towards country's development cannot be undermined. Mr Jaitley said digital media has unmatched power to empower citizens and bring revolution in the nation. However, he also cautioned that this powerful instrument should be handled positively, to curb its misuse.
