<span style="color: #222222;">Following PM Narendra Modi's appeal, 'Tika Utsav' will be celebrated from 11th to 14th April all across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. During 'Tika Utsav' additional vaccination centres will be opened to provide Covid-19 vaccine to persons aged 45 yrs. or more. These additional centers will cover the remotest areas of Radhanagar in North Andaman, Little Andaman, Chowra and Terresa in Nicobar district. There is a target to vaccinate 20,000 eligible persons during Tika Utsav in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Lt. Governor Admiral D K Joshi also appealed to all islanders to extend their full support and co-operation to participate in maximum numbers in the coming 'Tika Utsav' so that people of 45 yrs or more along with HCW and FLW get vaccinated. People of these islands should come forward for testing as and when required, for early diagnosis and timely treatment.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He further appealed people to follow Covid Appropriate Behavior. The mantra of Prime Minister ' Dawai Bhi Kadai Bhi' should be insisted upon to successfully fight the pandemic. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the vaccination is being carried on smoothly at 16 centres in the islands. To increase the pace of vaccination, four new centres have become functional recently in South Andaman and North and Middle Andaman districts. Two more will come up in Diglipur soon.  A weekly bus has started from today for residents of Kishorinagar Gram Panchayat to facilitate them reaching CHC Diglipur in North Andaman. This bus will be available three days in a week. The bus service will also be expanded to other distant villages as well.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Efforts seem to be fruitful as Covid vaccination touched its highest single day number i.e. 2731 yesterday. Today more than 2500 people were vaccinated. Eligible persons are stepping in at vaccination centers to get their shots. No adverse effect of Covid-19 vaccine observed till date in A&N Islands.</span><br />''  <br />
