Light rain accompanied by thunder and hailstorm hit the national capital on Tuesday afternoon plunging the city in the darkness for some time. The showers and the storm brought down the mercury level below normal. The sudden change in weather also affected the vehicular movement . The MeT department attributed the sudden rains and thunderstorm to the western disturbance and said the it was on expected lines.
