In Tamil Nadu, three teachers of a private school in Perambalur district have been suspended and arrested by police for severely beating up a ninth standard student. The parents of the student had complained that the teachers had punished him and forced him to drink urine. However, the Chief Education Officer Mrs. Mallika who inquired about this incident said that the teachers have denied this and they had admonished the student for chewing tobacco. Meanwhile Perambalur Judicial magistrate Suresh Kumar had ordered 15 days judicial custody of the three teachers. They have been lodged in Perambalur Sub Jail.
