Three major political parties file nomination papers for PM post in Nepal

In Nepal, top leaders of three major political parties have filed their nomination papers for the coveted post of Prime Minister, for which election will be held in parliament tomorrow.Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachand, Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudyel and CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal filed their nomination at the parliament secretariat in Kathmandu this afternoon.The Terai based Joint Madhesh Democratic Front consisting of Madhesh Janadhikar Forum, Madhesh Janadhikar Forum(Loktantrik), Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party and Sadbhavna Party have decided not to field any Prime Ministerial candidate but to support any alliance that would work for peace, constitution and is willing to address the political demands of the Terai parties.AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that after a series of marathon meetings by the party's top leaders, the Maoist central committee finally decided to nominate Prachanda as the Maoist candidate. The name of CPN(UML) Chief Jhalanath Khanal was also proposed hours before the deadline for filing nominations ended.
