In Nepal, the much anticipated meeting of the three major political parties – Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) – today failed to arrive at any understanding on key issues including the formation of new government.Talking to newsmen, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel said although there was some discussion on the Prime Ministerial election, the meeting ended inconclusively after the Maoists proposed holding of thorough discussions on all pending issues after their extended plenum starting from 21st of this month. Poudel said his party raised objections to the Maoist decision to invite its combatants in the party plenum.AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that barring agreement on the passage of the budget for the current financial year, three major parties could not arrive at a consensus on resolving the political deadlock on government formation despite several rounds of discussions held so far.
