In Tamil Nadu, three people involved in making firecrackers in their home were killed today at Vembakottai village near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district.Our correspondent reports that the accident occurred when three villagers of Vijayakarisalkulam near Sivakasi were making firecrackers at their home.They were not having any licence to make fire crackers according to district authorities. Already, the State authorities who inspected 346 fire cracker units in Virudhunagar district had cancelled the licences of about 50 units for not following safety guidelines. Even after strict vigilance after 39 persons were killed in a fire accident early this month in Muthalaipetti fire cracker factory, the saga of fire accidents continue in Sivakasi.With the festival of light Deepavali round the corner, more care is needed to avert such accidents.
