T.S Darbari, Sanjay Mehandroo and M Jaichandran have been suspended from the Organising Committee of the Common Wealth games. This was announced by the Secretary General of the Organising. Committee Lalit Bhanot at a press conference in New Delhi today. The contract with the Australian firm SMAM has been terminated because of non performance. He said that the Company was expected to get sponsorship to the tune of 122 million US dollars but failed to meet the target. The company had been brought in for getting sponsorships for the games.Mr Bhanot said the OC has also written to the Central Vigilance Commission to look into the overlay for the games. He said that any one involved in any irregularity will not be spared. Mr Bhanot said that OC will ensure transparency in its operations and it is ready to face inquiry by any agency . Earlier Mr A.K Mattoo took over as the Treasurer from Anil Khanna who resigned today. Mr Mattoo who was also present at the press conference said that he will do his best to ensure the success of the games.
