Three HuD militants killed in a fierce gun-battle with security forces in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, three Harkat-ul-Jehadi militants, including a self-styled divisional commander "Dawood", and an army personnel were today killed in a gunbattle with army troops in Kishtwar district. In another incident a Pakistani intruder was shot dead by Border Security Force along the Indo-Pak border in Samba district of Jammu Division .<br/><br/>AIR correspondent R.K. Raina reports from Jammu that acting on a tip off about presence of militants in Chicha-Nagsaini forest area of the district , troops of 26 Rashtriya Rifle launched a search and cordon operation in the area . Militants opened fire on the search party and in the ensuing gunbattle between the two sides, three militants got killed .<br/><br/>The slain militants have been identified as Feroz Ahmed alias Dawood, HUJI Divisional Commander, Nazir Ahmed alias Furkan and Mohmmad Ishaq. The Army Jawan who sacrificed his life ha been identified as Ravi Kant. Three AK rifles and a large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession. Dawood who was one of the oldest surviving militant in the state, had joined militancy in 1994 and was trained in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir training camps.<br/><br/>His death is a major blow to terrorist outfit in the Doda, Kishtwar belt of Jammu region. Meanwhile, wife of Dawood identified as Hafiza Banoo alias Babli, an active woman militant was arrested by the Security Forces after the encounter ended in village Chicha of Nagsaini area of Kishtwar district.
