Three Harkat-ul-Jehadi militants were killed in a fierce gun-battle with troops in Kishtwar district of Jammu division early thursday. in jammu and kashmir AIR correpondent reports thatActing on a tip off about the presence of four militants in village Chicha of Nagsani area of Kishtwar district, troops of Rashtriya Rifles launched a search and cordon operation in the area. Findng the troops approaching towards them , the militants started indiscriminate firing which was returned by the troops. In the ensuing gun-battle between the two sides which continued for over two hours, three militants were killed. The encounter was still going in the area when the reports last came in. According to Superintendent of Polcie, Kishtwar , the identity of the three slain HUJI militants is being ascertained. It may be mentioned here that late yesterday two dreaded militants belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit were gunned down by troops in Kishtwar district.
