Three hardcore Maoists, suspected to have been involved in August-29 Lakhisarai encounter, were arrested from Bicha village in Bihar's Munger district today. AIR Patna correspondent reports that acting on a tip-off, police raided the village and arrested them with two bombs, as many firearms and several rounds of ammunition. Director General of Police Neelmani told AIR that they were suspected to have been involved in the encounter with police in which seven policemen were killed in Kajra forests in lakhisarai district on August 29. The ultras had also kidnapped four policemen during the encounter and later killed Lucas Tete, a BMP ASI, sending a shock wave across the state. Under heavy pressure from political parties and organisations besides the state government's for talks, theMaoists had on September six released the three other policemen held captive by them for nine days.
