With an aim to bringing more laurels to the State, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu has selected five young sportspersons for specialised training.The sportspersons, including three girls,will also get a financial assistance of up to 25 lakh rupees each. An official release in Chennai said that Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today presented the orders to K Premkumar (long jump), G Gayathri (100 metres and triple jump), A V Jayaveena (swimming), Aishwarya Nedunchezhian (sailing) and K Sathyan (table tennis) who are selected for the specialised training. The financial assistance of up to 25 lakh rupees to each sportsperson is for scientific training, high-class sports equipment, nutritious food and improving the skills of trainers.
