In Uttar Pradesh, three district magistrates have been transferred on the directives of the Election Commission. The state Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Singh told reporters in Lucknow today that,while Sunil Kumar Srivastava has been made District Magistrate of Ballia in place of Yashwant Rao, Ranvir Prasad has been made DM of Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), replacing Chandrakant Pandey.

Aparna U has been made DM of Shahjahanpur, replacing Vijay V Pant, he added. Besides, three Sub-Divisional Magistrates have also been transferred, he added. Rao, Pandey and Pant have not been given any new posting. They have been put on the wait list. No reason has been given for the transfers.
