Three-day India Panorma Film Festival to begin in Port Blair

In Andaman and Nicobar Island the three-day India Panorma Film Festival is going to begin on Friday at Port Blair. The Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen. Bhopindher Singh will inaugurate the festival at the auditorium of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology. He will also honour the film personalities participating in the film festival and welcome them to these emerald Islands.The eminent film maker Maniratnam's Tamil feature film Ravanan will be screened as a inaugural film Mr. Maniratnam will be attending the inaugural function. Besides the eminent film personalities, Divya Dutta, Girish Kesaravalli, Goutam Ghose, Sharman Joshi, madhu Bhandarkar, Bikram Singh, Suprio Sen and Neeraj are expected to take part in this three day long festival.Through this first ever film festival, the islanders will get a rare opportunity of watching award winning films in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and other regional languages besides interacting with the eminent film personalities on their works.An exclusive beach screening will be arranged at the popular tourist destination Havelock Island on 21st of this month.The Film Festival is being organized by the Directorate of Film Festival in coordination with the Directorate of Information, publicity and tourism on non commercial basis.
