Three-day annual conference of DGPs and IGPs begins in New Delhi

Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Indian agencies have succeeded in establishing their strong supremacy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that India today stands safe, sound and on a good footing. Home Minister said this while chairing the All India Conference of Director Generals Inspector Generals of Police 2022 in New Delhi on Friday.<br />'' <br />'' Mr. Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, no one ignores India in any field today. He paid tributes to all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation's security.<br />'' <br />'' On the first day, the Conference deliberated upon topics such as security challenges along the Land Borders with Nepal and Myanmar, strategies to identify overstaying foreigners in India and targeting of Maoist strongholds. Over the next two days, top police leadership of the country will deliberate on emerging security challenges and opportunities along with experts, field functionaries and academia.<br />'' <br />'' On the occasion, Home Minister distributed Police Medal for meritorious service and gave away trophies for the top three police stations of the country.<br />'' Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Conference on Saturday. The Conference is being held in hybrid format.<br />'' <br />'' About one hundred invitees including DGP of States and UTs and Heads of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations will attend the Conference physically. The remaining invitees will participate virtually from across the country.<br />'' <br />'' The conference will discuss a wide range of issues including Cyber Crime, Technology in Policing, Counter Terrrorism challenges, Left Wing Extremism, capacity building, and Prison Reforms. The conference is the culmination of extensive deliberations involving police and intelligence officers from district, state and national levels on identified themes. Best practices from States and UTs under each of the themes will be presented at the Conference so that  States can learn from each other.<br />'' <br />''Since 2014, the Prime Minister has taken a keen interest in the DGP conference. Guided by the vision of the Prime Minister, the Conference has started discussions on futuristic themes in policing and security.
