Three companies set to establish new projects worth Rs 13,000 crores in TN

In Tamil Nadu, three major companies including Indian Oil Corporation, Videocon and J.K.Tyres are all set to establish new projects with an investment of over 13,000 crores rupees. Memorandum of understanding for setting up the industries were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Mr M.Karunanidhi in Chennai Wednesday morning. Speaking to newsmen after signing the agreement, the Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Oil Corporation Mr B.M.Bansal said an LNG terminal, a regasification facility and a 1000 Mgw power plant are to be established in Ennore near Chennai. He said the project with an investment of 10,000 crores is expected to be commissioned in four’s year time. The two other projects for which MOU’s were signed today include, a plasma, LCD manufacturing unit at Manamadurai in Sivaganga district to be set up Videocon industries and J.K. Tyres manufacturing plant at Sriperumbudur in Kancheepuram district. The two projects with an investment of 3000 crores will provide direct and indirect employment to over 2000 people.
