In Assam, threat of flood looms large with several rivers flowing above the danger mark. The Central Water Commission reports said, the Brahmaputra river is flowing above the Warning level at Dibrugarh and Nimatighat in Jorhat district. River Buridihing at Khowang in Dibrugarh district, Desang at Nanglamuraghat in Sivsagar district, Jia Bharali in Sonitpur, Puthimari in Kamrup and Beki in Barpeta district are also flowing near the Danger level.The Dhansiri river at Numaligarh in Golaghat district crossed the Danger level this morning flowing at 78.08 metres, less than one metre, above Danger level. The earlier breach in the embankment at Sholmora Nahatiya in Jorhat district had affected at least 25 thousand people.AIR correspondent reports, incessant rains occurred at a few places of the state in the last 24 hours. Karimganj, Silchar, Goalpara and Dharamtul in Morigaon district recorded more than 50 mm rains in the last 24 hours. Weather man has said, Rain and thunder shower may occur again at a few places of the state in the next 24 hours.
