<span style="color: #222222;">Thousands of people are returning back to Dhaka after spending Eid holidays at their native towns and villages. Large crowds are reported at the ferry terminals in the country with rush of people coming back to Dhaka even though the government has announced the extension of 'strict lockdown' in the country for one more week till May 23. Ferry terminals Daulatdia-Paturia and Shimulia-Banglabazar routes saw a surge in the number of people returning back from their hometowns and villages despite restrictions imposed on movement of public transport including buses, ferries and trains.<br />''<br />''The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday urged the people returning from Eid to delay it for 7-14 days in order to check overcrowding at ferry terminals and other public places. DGHS spokesperson Dr. Nazmul Islam issued a warning that there is no room for complacency despite declining trend in infection as Bangladesh is still in the middle of the second wave of corona pandemic.<br />''<br />''The government on Sunday issued a circular extending the lockdown in the country till May 23. The Ministry of education has also extended the closure of primary, secondary and higher secondary schools till May 29. Educational institutions in Bangladesh have remained closed since March 17 last year.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, 25 people died of COVID 19 infection and 363 fresh cases of Corona cases were detected in Bangladesh on Sunday. The death toll has gone up to 12,149.  The total number of infections in the country since March last year has gone over 7.80 lakh but the number of active cases is slightly over 46,000. The sample positivity rate was reported at 6.69 percent with recovery rate at 92.55 percent.</span><br />
