In Assam, 31 thousand people have returned homes in the last 24 hours from relief camps in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts. Official press releases revealed that as the situation has improved in the Bodoland Territorial Areas District, BTAD, administrations closed 42 relief camps so far. But 4 lakh 45 thousand people are still being sheltered at 277 camps in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Dhubri and Bongaigaon district. District administrations distributed food items including baby foods in relief camps. Clothes are also being given to the inmates. 104 security pickets are being set up at the vulnerable areas to deploy security personnel. Assam government instructed the deputy commissioners to expedite the relief works including financial assistance so that people who have taken shelter can go homes.
