In Assam, around 55,000 people have returned to their homes so far in the violence-hit districts from the relief camps. Official sources in Guwahati said as the situation had improved in the Bodoland Territorial Areas District (BTAD), administration closed 18 relief camps so far.Security pickets are being set up at vulnerable areas. The Assam Government has decided to set up 104 security pickets in the violence-marred areas to maintain law and order. Around four lakh people have taken shelter at 278 relief camps.Meanwhile, in view of the apprehension that people, who were not displaced in violence, will also be rehabilitated in the BTAD area, The Assam Government on Thursday said only the genuinely-affected people would get the benefit of rehabilitation package.
