Thousands of Nag devotees converge at ancient hill top temple in Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu Division to celebrate birth anniversary of Sheetla Mata

<span style="color: #222222;">To celebrate the birth anniversary of 18 bhuja Goddess also known as Sheetla Mata, thousands of Nag devotees today converged at the ancient hill top temple in Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu Division on the eve of 'Ashtami', the eighth day of Navratri. Ashtami, a prelude to Dussehra, is an important religious symbol of the Nagas. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">To mark the festivities, about 23,000 people, largely the Nagas, gathered at the 18 Bhuja temple which is also known as the temple of Goddess Sheetla at Rehoshra Dhar. The temple is situated at almost 8500 feet above sea level.  Rehoshra Dhar is devoid of people in a radius of about eight kilometres due to ice, and its lower reaches host the ancient Naga cult that comes alive during Navratri, especially on Ashtami. According to local belief, the goddess is the sister the main deity of Bhaderwah Lord Vasuki Nag and her birthday falls on the 8th day of Navratri.</span><br />
